Enido Rumaldo, of Port Jervis, was sentenced on Wednesday, March 26, to six years in state prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision, according to Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.

The sentence follows Rumaldo’s guilty plea in February to second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, as Daily Voice reported.

The charges stemmed from a long-term, multi-agency investigation into narcotics trafficking in and around the City of Port Jervis. Authorities said Rumaldo sold drugs to undercover officers four times during the fall of 2024.

On October 16, Rumaldo sold 63 grams of cocaine to an undercover officer. After the transaction, police arrested him and executed a search warrant on his vehicle, where they recovered more narcotics, along with scales and plastic baggies used to package the drugs.

At his plea hearing, Rumaldo admitted to knowingly and unlawfully selling at least half an ounce of cocaine.

DA Hoovler had harsh words in a statement on the case given on Thursday, March 26: "Drug dealers should heed the warning that we will not relent in our pursuit of those who seek to spread poison on our streets."
